Bristol City boss Gary Johnson speaks ahead of their match against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow afternoon.

It was only a week ago when The Sun linked the Bristol City boss with the hot-seat at Loftus Road, but now Paulo Sousa will have his chance to battle his wits against the would-be Rangers boss.

Johnson was in attendance when the R`s beat Swansea City with consummate ease on Tuesday night, courtesy of a Mikele Leigertwood header. Speaking to bcfc.co.uk he believed that the Rangers crowd can go either way depending on the team`s performance.

He said: ‘Their crowd can go either way at the moment. If they aren’t doing well then they’ll make their feelings heard, but when they scored the goal against Swansea the whole place was buzzing.’

With regards to playoff ambition, the Robins sit in prime position for a late push being four points of sixth placed Burnley. Johnson runs the rule over his side`s aspirations to reach the top six for the second season in succession.

‘We’re still competing [for a play-off place] with seven games to go and the next two or three games will be crucial,” continued the Robins boss.

‘I still have to remind the lads we’ve been on a great run. If you take the last 15 games, we’ve performed the best out of all the 24 teams. However, in the last seven we’ve only won twice.

‘We need to put another winning run together as quickly as we can, and then the league will look a lot healthier for us.’

Rangers will need a second home victory in succession if they harbour any ambition of achieving an unlikely spot in the top six – where as Bristol City know that while a defeat may not be disastrous it is likely to dent their chase for the playoff lottery.
