Another rumour has circulated that Iain Dowie`s job could be at risk in W12.

A frankly audacious and laughable rumour has come to light in the national media concerning Iain Dowie`s job – this time it`s former R`s assistant manager Kenny Jackett who is being linked by The Sun.

They simply state: “QPR are eyeing Lions chief Kenny Jackett as a replacement for under-fire Iain Dowie.”

A bit of a throw-away statement when you consider the only plausible link they have made is that Dowie`s future has been potentially cut short due to these “persistent arguments” with Mr Briatore, and Jackett used to work for the club under Ian Holloway – who himself is yet to get a job since leaving Leicester – just wait for that rumour to come!

Jackett joined the R`s during a summer of discontent at Loftus Road, with Rangers relegated, in administration and starting pre-season with a negligible squad. Bringing with him the talent of Steve Palmer, Alex Bonnot and Chris Day, he helped Ian Holloway propel the R`s to safety, followed by a play-off final appearance, and subsequently promotion the following season.

Since then he has taken charge of Swansea City winning the FAW Premier Cup, The Football League Trophy, and promotion from Division Three. Jackett narrowly missed out on taking the Swans to the Championship with Barnsley defeating the Welsh outfit at the Millennium Stadium.

He moved on to Millwall where he has steered the Lions into the early play-off reckoning in League One.

As to whether he would be any sort of suitable replacement for Iain Dowie is a matter of opinion – but the lack of necessary experience – not to mention the fact he isn`t Italian, doesn`t make him a suitable candidate for the role, but time will tell as to whether Dowie`s tenure will be able to shake off these ill-wanted rumours.
