Ishan Saksena has outlined his plans to support Neil Warnock in this summer’s transfer window.

For a long time now QPR supporters have had their aspirations fuelled by words in the build up to a new campaign, but rarely have the words had so much conviction than the latest issued by Ishan Saksena.

The chairman of QPR Holdings was keen to point out to QPR.co.uk that his close working relationship with Neil Warnock and Amit Bhatia will ensure that the summer transfer window will be an exciting one.

‘Amit (Bhatia), Neil (Warnock) and I are all on the same wavelength and I believe this is going to be a fun time in the transfer market,’ he said.

‘You want someone in charge of the team who shares the same vision as you. You want someone who is financially prudent but, at the same time, someone who is keen to invest in the team so that we can get to where we want to go.’

Saksena was keen to point out that Rangers have the capacity to spend, and while he has mentioned prudency, he will undoubtedly realise the price of turning the present underachieving side and helping Warnock mould them into promotion challengers.

Indeed the R’s boss has already outlined several targets, while others that are no longer required have been informed of their futures in W12. Saksena was also keen to point out that targets are dictated by the boss – the source of much speculation in the past.

‘We are all really hungry for success. We know investment needs to be made in the right areas for us to achieve that success,’ he continued.

‘As I have said before, we have the capacity to spend. I am really excited. We want to achieve our target as soon as possible.

‘The players we approach will be dictated by Neil. Wherever he needs support, we are there.’

While in the past supporters have been become accustomed to the pre-season motivational speech, subtly accompanied by the season ticket application form. This time however there appears a more genuine sentiment behind the words.

It remains to be seen just how many players will sign, and more importantly what calibre of player, but the Rangers saga is undoubtedly going to throw up several talking points in the coming months.
