‘Iconic moment’, ‘Wonderful scenes’ – These QPR fans reflect on memorable day for the club

Queens Park Rangers have enjoyed some good days in the Championship over the years and many will remember the 10/11 season as a standout campaign.

Neil Warnock’s side, inspired by the ridiculously talented Adel Taarabt, would win the league and the day they clinched the title came on this day nine years ago. Therefore, the R’s official Twitter decided to look back at that game today, sharing highlights of the win and the celebrations at the end with the away support as their 15-year stay outside the top-flight ended.

A goal from Taarabt gave QPR the lead and the points were sealed in injury time thanks to Tommy Smith, taking Warnock’s men eight points clear of Norwich who only had two games left to play.

Whilst the Londoners are in a decent position now under Mark Warburton, many fans love looking back to that promotion winning team and the happy memories they provided. So, they appreciated this update from the club and here we look at some of the reaction…
