Ian Holloway Wants Funds

Ian Holloway wants his side to start scoring more goals after a haul of just 20 goals in 18 league games. He said ‘I want to work on making the goals-for column look a lot healthier’ and to that end, he is looking at bringing in another player or two in the transfer window, including a striker.

We might also get a loan signing according to the boss: ‘I might be close to taking a player on loan with a view to taking over his contract’ adding ‘ wouldn’t mind some defensive cover, either.’

Millwall striker Barry Hayles is being repeatedly linked to his former boss. Hayles played for Holloway when he the boss at Bristol Rovers in 1997.

One thing is not in doubt, Holloway wants some funds and feels it is essential if they are to make the play offs this season: ‘We need some new investment – and we believe that it will arrive in the near future. I would like to go the supermarket and buy some produce instead of having to get out-of-date stuff.’ He says it upsets him that Sheffield Wednesday can compete by offering around £750k for players like Nathan Tyson of Wycombe and Lee Trundle of Swansea and he says QPR simply ‘have to get into that market’ adding ‘We are working towards upping the budget so we can attract better players.’
