“I Haven’t Applied” – Eustace Talks QPR Future After Much Needed Victory

|

Having picked up a draw in our last clash to bring an end to back to back defeats, Queens Park Rangers were hoping for more in today’s clash against Swansea City.

Caretaker gaffer John Eustace would’ve liked nothing more than to pick up his first win at Loftus Road since taking on duties following Steve McClaren’s departure, and it seemed the squad were more up for it today.

Darnell Furlong opened the scoring three minutes into the first half, and Tomer Hemed had doubled our advantage in the fifth minute. Hemed grabbed his brace in minute 17 and we were comfortable at 3-0 come the half time break.

Mass Luongo added a fourth in the 54th minute of the second half, and Swansea had no reply so we took an unexpected and comfortable 4-0 victory on the day to boost everyone’s spirits a touch.

Speaking to the BBC following the fulltime whistle, Eustace said of the game.

“I took over for as long as it takes for them to find a new manager. I haven’t applied. Les Ferdinand asked me to help the club until they find somebody and that’s what I’m doing. The boys have been excellent and their performance today was excellent. I’m happy in the role and there are no problems there. All I’m thinking about is preparing the lads for Friday.”
