Holloway Sees Red

Ian Holloway was angry that Prestons French defender Youl Mawene was still on the pitch and able to equalise in injury time to deny QPR the 3 points.

Holloway said all his players were ‘absolutely incensed’ that Mawene didn’t get sent off for a foul on Paul Furlong.

‘It was a questionable decision which wasn’t made. In my 20-odd years I have never seen anything like it. The bloke brought him down. We were not even given a free-kick.’

Meanwhile Billy Davies has admitted how frustrating the game against QPR was after Preston had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

‘It’s a little bit frustrating but we can ask no more. They are working as hard as they can work. At the end of the day we must continue to do what we have been doing, it was a difficult game today with regards to the type of team we played against.’

By all accounts, we should have picked up all three points on our travels v a team who still haven’t won at home this season.

Preston NE (Mawene 90) 1 – 1 QPR (S**ttu 61)
(HT: 0-0)
