Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is delighted to be back in football as he takes on the task at Bloomfield Road.

“I`m ready to go, I feel like just take the lid off and let me go. I feel like a bottle of pop that`s been shook up!” – That`s right ladies and gentleman Ian Holloway has made a return to football and was his usual charismatic self in an interview with Blackpool`s official site.

His infectious enthusiasm poured through the speakers as he recounted instances of the past up at Bloomfield Road and his time with Plymouth and Leicester. His frank honesty throughout was nothing less than you`d expect as he looks to stamp his mark on Blackpool.

After a four hour meeting with chairman Karl Oyston that nearly didn`t happen – Ian managed to persuade the chairman to give him a chance and claimed that the time flew by, he rather joking said regarding Mr Oyston: “He says what he likes and he likes what he says,” a one-liner that has helped propel him into the public eye and endear the affection of football fans around the country.

Ian explained that the process usually entailed a representative speaking on behalf of the manager but Mr Oyston was not interested in speaking to him, rather talking frankly about his plans for the future of Blackpool – something that the former QPR boss wants desperately to be a part of.

He said: “I just can`t wait to be part of something, I want to be given time to build something.

“I want to do a lot of things for the people around this area, the schools around this area, the players, I want to get hold of them and mould them and make them appreciate the fantastic opportunity they have.”

While he was understandably very pleased to be taking the hot-seat at Bloomfield road he said he`s not ‘chuffed as a badger` just yet as another agonising wait ensues for the man who wants to drive Blackpool forward on a memorable journey.
