HOGAN Ephraim could be heading to New York as boss Paulo Sousa looks to firm up his midfield options

The wide-man, who has only appeared a handful of times since promotion to the Premier League in 2011, could be linking up once again with his former QPR manager Paulo Sousa.

Sousa, who left QPR for ‘divulging confidential information’ in 2009, often played Ephraim in the centre of midfield in a resolute and defensive side.

The Portuguese international tipped the out of favour Ephraim for international honours after a string of useful displays for QPR in the 2008-09 season.

Hogan was handed an extension to his current contract by Mark Hughes, who selected him in his 25-man squad at the start of the season. He did not however get close to action and was refused permission to leave on loan.

The potential switch could help rekindle what is still a fledgling career for the 24-year-old, who has fallen out of favour in W12.
