Hogan Ephraim scored his first goal for Leeds United last night as they overcame Accrington Stanley in the Johnstones Paint Trophy.

The Whites came into the game as favourites and Ephraim was granted only his second start of the short-term loan spell, and didn’t disappoint.

He was sprightly early on in the encounter to help spark United’s attacks, and before long made the telling difference approaching the ten minute mark.

Receiving a ball from Neil Kilkenny, the R’s loanee cut inside from the left flank to curl home an effort with the aid of a deflection.

Leeds doubled their advantage after the break with Kilkenny netting five minutes after the break from an Ephraim cross – from then on the game was rather a formality as Leeds booked their place in the Northern Section Final.
