“He’s Someone We’re Interested In” – Manager Confirms He’s Looking At QPR Man

|

With young Queens Park Rangers striker Paul Smyth struggling for game time in the season of 2018/19, speculation has recently suggested that he could be set for a loan spell in the second half of the campaign out with League One side Charlton Athletic to get his match minutes up.

Although the 21-year-old Northern Irishman is well rated at Loftus Road and it’s believed that manager Steve McClaren sees a big future ahead of him, he obviously has plenty to work on and develop in his game and a loan spell out for greater match minutes would suit everyone’s purposes here – especially as we’ve tied his future up with his earlier contract extension.

With Charlton Athletic heavily linked with the attacker in the last fortnight, their manager Lee Bowyer has now confirmed that he is on their wishlist for a January deal as he was quoted in a recent interview by London News Online.

“He is somebody that we’re interested in, along with a few others. We are looking at a few to be honest but yes, his name is amongst the list.”

Reports indicated a deal could’ve been done a week last Thursday until we received further interest in him, and although the destination is yet to be set as I type, it seems he can look forward to more involvement somewhere in the months ahead.
