With Queens Park Rangers taking a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town last weekend, whilst some fans are joking about being four points off the Play-Off spots in the Championship table, everyone knows that’s not actually the aim – although being that close will certainly be enjoyed for the moment.

With an own goal on Saturday giving us the advantage before Tomer Hemed doubled the lead from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time, in any event, it made a good weekend, especially for the travelling fans who took the game in.

Angel Rangel has quickly established himself as a fan favourite following his arrival over the summer as a free agent on a short-term deal and it’s not only been his leadership and performances on the pitch that have helped that, it’s also his interaction with fans on social media regardless of results.

As the above Tweet shows, he was at it again following this victory, and just like normal it went over very well amongst the fans and plenty were happy to call on the board to extend his contract until the end of the season even though the expiry remains a couple of months off at this stage.

The 35-year-old has got to have a couple of years left in the tank, even if being an ever present and playing twice a week ceases to be an option, so given our limitations in the January market it’s an absolute no brainer for me.
