Tom Heaton has revealed his desire to return to Queens Park Rangers in January as he seeks a move away from Manchester United.

The loanee has been with QPR since August, signing shortly prior to the Plymouth Argyle fixture, and has since then made two displays for Rangers.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk he revealed that he has immensely enjoyed his time in W12 and will closely monitor the progress of the R`s in future.

“I`ve thoroughly enjoyed it, lads have been good, staff have been excellent,” he said.

“I`ve been thoroughly impressed with everything they`ve done here, all the players the whole club in general really it`s been excellent.

“It`s a good club, obviously I would have liked to play more games but I`ve thoroughly enjoyed playing for the manager and I`ve enjoyed my time here.”

Heaton played in fixtures against Accrington Stanley and Chelsea in the Carling Cup, where he excelled and came close to knocking Radek Cerny off his stoppers perch.

Magilton himself revealed that he had toyed with using Heaton in league fixtures and has expressed his desire to bring the keeper back in January.

Heaton himself expressed a desire to return to the club and work with Cerny, and a coach he has recently expressed his admiration for, David Rouse.

He revealed however that he may have to go out on a short-term loan elsewhere until January, simply because QPR cannot extend his loan in the emergency window.

Heaton continued: “The plan is I`ve got six weeks until January 1, when hopefully, when hopefully something can be done.

“I`ve thoroughly enjoyed my time down here and until then I think we`re going to look for another loan move.

“Although I can`t extend my loan here, the rules are so that I can go on a loan move somewhere else.”

Rangers have a goalkeeper shortage at present, with Radek Cerny and Elvijs Putnins the only two keepers in the first team squad, the latter yet to make his first team debut.

It is hoped that Rangers can agree a deal with Manchester United for Heaton`s signature, as he currently lies behind international keepers Edwin Van der Sar, Ben Foster and Tomasz Kuszcsak.
