Have QPR Changed Their Mind, Or Have The Press Got It Wrong Again

|

When Queens Park Rangers decided to part company with former manager Steve McClaren, it didn’t really come as surprise to fans given how our form had fallen off a cliff and the main question was, did we have a replacement lined up or not.

With caretaker gaffer John Eustace remaining in position to see us over the line in the Championship campaign of 2018/19, the obvious answer is we had no one lined up.

The media have linked plenty of names to the vacant role as attentions begin turning to the campaign of 2019/20 and director of football Les Ferdinand has even confirmed some of the names that we’ve been speaking to.

QPR Make Progress In Manager Search But Fans Are Left Wondering

No appointment has been made, but the press have named plenty of firm favourites for the role and following on from Tim Sherwood, Gareth Ainsworth was said to be our latest.

London Football News have stated this week though that no approach has been made for the Wycombe Wanderers man and he hasn’t even been spoken to.

Instead, we now appear to be back to Marc Bircham in possibly a double act with Darren Moore as assistant to address the relative managerial experience aspect of our former player.

With only one game left, we should surely have an answer soon enough.
