Paul Hart spoke to QPRPlayer after the humbling 3-0 loss away to Ipswich yesterday afternoon. Hart certainly had a completely different view to events on the pitch than I did! For example, he thought that we were unlucky to concede the first goal – whereas I personally thought that, if Leigertwood hadn`t lost possession in midfield so easily, the whole sorry episode would have been avoided!

Hart`s view: “The first half we were, I felt, in control. They scored an early goal but we were unlucky with that one. It took a deflection off Gorkss.” I didn`t notice a deflection off Gorkss – maybe I was watching properly?!

Hart continued: “We should have had a penalty, I felt. And also a great chance to go ahead when Taarabt missed the header.” These are Hart`s words, verbatim, guys & gals – but please could someone tell me when we could have “gone ahead” seeing as how we were 1-0 down from the 3rd minute of the game!

In fact, Taarabt had two golden opportunities to score for us in the first half, both of which he squandered. If Taarabt had taken just one of those two chances, the final outcome could have been very, very different. Hart felt“Goals do change games and we`re left looking at a 3-0 defeat when, certainly on the first half showing, it was nowhere near that. But eventually, in the 2nd half, we ran out of legs.”

Regarding the goals we did concede, notwithstanding Hart`s insistence that we were unlucky with the first, he observed “They were poor goals from our point of view.”

He thought there were some positives to be taken from the game – I shall now list them in chronological order – wait for it:

“That we controlled for long spells the game in the first half.

“There were some sterling performances – I thought that Ramage did well, Routledge and Taarabt.

“And, you know, we have to build on those,” he finished limply!

And in respect of the future?

“We`ve got a lot of work to do, in my opinion, I have with my coaching staff to get a formula to suit us.”

Coming in over Christmas, with the heavy programme of games, has meant Hart and Harford have had relatively little time with the squad on the training pitch:

“There`s not been a lot of time to work and we need a bit more quality or worldly-wise players in certain positions. I`ll certainly be trying,” to look at this latter fact come the opening of the January transfer window this Friday, Hart added with a deep sigh.

Quality – worldly-wise players – how about players with heart, desire, passion and a sincere desire to play for Queens Park Rangers and help us achieve our dream of promotion? Look at those types of players, please, Hart!
