Propsective boss Paul Hart has reportedly turned down a coaching role at Tottenham Hotspur to take over at Queens Park Rangers.

The departure of Jim Magilton was announced this evening along with his assistant John Gorman, allowing Hart and Mick Harford to take on the club until the end of the season.

Hart will be the eighth manager under Flavio Briatore and his fellow investors if reports in the press are to be believes, with various outlets now confirming his new role.

In his most recent role Hart kept Portsmouth in the top flight, but after a poor start to the current campaign under constantly changing ownership he fell by the wayside at Fratton Park.

In 30 games for Pompey, Hart won nine, most recently the important win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, a result that could yet prove crucial for their survival aspirations.

He has a very different task on his hands in W12, guiding Rangers to the playoffs and the Premier League being the lofty ambition of a club that has stuttered in recent times.
