Sky Sports News announced late last night (Thursday) that, “according to widespread reports” Paul Hart had left the Club “by mutual consent” after merely 5 games in charge.

Hart`s first game in charge for the Rs was on Saturday 19th December, when we drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield United. He has therefore been in charge for less than one month!

Hart`s record was not inspiring – we won only one game: 2-1 at home to Bristol City on December 26th; and there were two draws (both coming against Sheffield United) and two losses (away to Ipswich and, on Tuesday night just gone, at home to Sheffield United in the FA Cup 3rd round replay).

We conceded in every game and Hart was moaning about this after Tuesday night`s game; but clearly the Board had seen enough to know that Hart was not going to be the man to lead Rangers for the rest of this season.

There was a rumour in one of the national papers, that Taarabt had taken exception to Mr Hart – particularly at having only started only two games under him. I sincerely hope Hart`s departure is not down to “player power” yet again – as I recently said, that is in an incredibly dangerous path for the Board to tread and I would hope that it is Hart`s very disappointing record that has caused the Board to act so precipitately.

It is not yet 100% clear who will take charge of the First Team for tomorrow`s game against Blackpool. However, Sky claim that Mick Harford will remain in charge until the end of the season, according to this morning’s report.
