HARRY Redknapp has heaped praise on Neil Warnock in the build up to Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs manager and Warnock have forged a close friendship over the years, leading to the influential deals of Kyle Walker and Adel Taarabt to W12.

In the wake of the club’s first meeting since December 1995, Redknapp was keen to praise the QPR boss for his stunning impact in W12.

‘Neil walked in there and in his first season, got them promoted,’ Redknapp told tottenhamhotspur.com.

‘They had manager after manager, good managers tried to get QPR promoted and in comes Neil and no problem, first season – promotion. That’s amazing.

‘I just think he understands football, he understands the game.

‘People look for magic formulas in this game. He knows how to put a good team together and knows players who will do a good job for him.

The last time Rangers registered a win at White Hart Lane was in 1994 when a Trevor Sinclair brace was enough to see off the hosts.

Since then however Rangers exile from the top flight has ensured meetings have been reserved purely for friendlies.

A succession of bosses in more recent times saw progress scuppered somewhat, but in Warnock Harry believes that QPR have a manager that understands how to put a team together.

He continued: ‘Neil walked in there and in his first season, got them promoted,’ said Harry.
