Rangers boss Mick Harford believed that his side were unfortunate to be beaten at home this afternoon.

Garry Thompson’s close range strike secured the points with little over ten minutes remaining, despite small glimpses of positive play from the home side.

Harford told QPR.co.uk that he felt Rangers were the dominant force for large parts of the fixture.

‘I felt we deserved more,’ he said.

‘We were the dominant force in the first half and created the greater chances in the second half too.

‘Their keeper made a number of good saves and they were defending for their lives at times.

‘Their goal came out of the blue really and that’s really difficult to take.’

One can only assume that there is a different message reserved for a few individuals who once again underperformed in a disappointing defeat.

Nevertheless he saw the importance of taking the positives from the fixture – there were a couple don’t worry! – and look ahead to next week.

Harford said: ‘The players gave me everything, but today just wasn’t our day.

‘It’s disappointing, but we’ll pick ourselves up and go again on the training ground on Monday.’

Rangers now face Peterborough away next Saturday in what has become a must win game in light of both sides’ problems.
