Queens Park Rangers boss Mick Harford was pleased with his side’s performance against Blackpool this afternoon.

Rangers twice came from behind to pick up a 2-2 draw with Adel Taarabt and Matt Connolly equalising strikes from Charlie Adam and Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

Speaking to QPR.co.uk Mick stated that his side improved in the second half, but the overall performance was pleasing – singling out Taarabt and Connolly for praise.

‘The performance of the players was excellent, particularly in the second half. Now we need to build on this and let our confidence grow.’ he said.

‘Adel was outstanding.

‘He is a very talented player. I didn’t know what he was going to do with the penalty but credit to him for having the confidence to score it in the way that he did.’

On Connolly’s goal Mick added: ‘It was a wonderful strike, I saw it – but I have to admit I didn’t see that coming from him!’

Harford was quick to praise the 459 travelling supporters that made their way up from West London: ‘They are a brilliant set of supporters,’ he said.

‘When I saw where they were located in the stadium I was hoping it wouldn’t rain! Their backing is so important.’

Rangers now face a ten-day break until their next fixture away at Nottingham Forest, where they will face resurgent former R’s Dexter Blackstock and Lee Camp.
