I was thinking that Fitz Hall had survived two whole games and was into his 3rd, yesterday, when he limped off after 18 minutes. I couldn’t believe it because, in my opinion at least, he and Shittu had proved Warnock 100% correct in putting them in to central defence against both Ipswich and Middlesbrough. And with the likes of Yakubu and Vassell ready to torment our defence yesterday, I expected another solid performance from the newly formed Hall-Shittu partnership.

So it was with a sigh of relief that, this morning, I read that Hall’s injury yesterday does not appear as bad as first feared. It appears that Hall has not torn his hamstring (the same hamstring that has given him problems previously). According to Warnock, Hall ‘cramped up and we will know more on Monday’ when he is properly assessed.

Warnock took Hall off as a precaution and there is a chance that he could feature at Millwall. Considering the time he has been off with the hamstring injury to his right leg, Warnock may turn to Connolly or even Gorkss at The Den on Tuesday night, to give Hall a chance to make a full recovery. We shall see!
