Rangers defender Fitz Hall gives his view on the penalty incident against former club Crystal Palace and the huge test that awaits the R’s at Hillsborough.
Fitz Hall has worked his way back into the side since sustaining a groin injury, replacing Jamaican international Damion Stewart in the back four.
He partnered the Latvian Kaspars Gork?s against his former club Crystal Palace on Tuesday owing to a foot injury for Stewart.
Hall featured against Sheffield Wednesday last season at Hillsborough, as despite Rangers domination combined with missing a penalty, they went down by the odd goal.
‘It’s a hugely important game for us,’ Hall told QPR.co.uk
‘The lads were gutted when we lost at Swansea prior to the last international break and we’re determined not to feel like that again.
‘It’s never an easy place to go. They’re a very hardworking side and in Marcus Tudgay, have one of the best strikers in the division up their sleeve.
‘However, it’s not about what they can do, it’s about what we do and we’re heading there aiming for all three points to cement our position in the top-six.’
Hall will be looking to make his eighth appearance this season, and will certainly be hoping for better luck than when he faced Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
He gave away the decisive penalty that saw Crystal Palace equalise during a second half dominated by the hosts.
Despite many in the ground and players around him not protesting at what was a clumsy challenge at best, Hall remains defiant that it was a soft decision.
He continued: ‘I didn’t think it was at the time and I’m still not sure even now.
‘It was a 50-50 challenge, but maybe because I’m that much bigger than Freddie and he went down first, that’s why the referee pointed to the spot.’
Hall and Gork?s will once again be partners in the back four in the continued absence of Matthew Connolly (glandular fever) and Damion Stewart (foot).
