It has been confirmed this evening that Kaspars Gorkss has had to go to Charing Cross Hospital to see a specialist following his head injury sustained in a clash with Akpo Sodje this afternoon.

Gorkss, who fell like a sack of potatoes and didn’t move for what seemed an age, had his head heavily bandaged and continued, stoically, even make a telling headed clearance towards the end of the game.

However, QPR’s Head Physio, Paul Hunter has confirmed to QPR.co.uk that, due to the nature of the injury – ‘a deep laceration on his forehead’ – he will need ‘special stitches to close the wound.’

Hunter went on to say that: ‘We’re confident that he should be fit and available for our trip to Wolves.’ But I suspect he’ll be wearing one of those ‘batman’-type masks that Fitz Hall sported earlier this season!

I am sure all Rangers fans wishes Gorkss a speedy recovery – and thank him for continuing, as a true hero, for the last few minutes of the game this afternoon.

he Club confirmed this morning that Gorkss has been cleared to resume training on Thursday morning, unless he suffers a setback between now and then. He had 16 internal and 14 external stitches to the wound, which was so deep it went down to the bone, according to Paul Hunter. Hunter also confirmed, on QPR.co.uk Tuesday morning, that Gorkss should be fine to feature for the Rs at Wolves on Saturday.
