KASPARS Gorkss has today left Queens Park Rangers for Championship side Reading

The undisclosed fee was enough to secure the services of the Latvian international who made 114 appearances over three years at Loftus Road.

The Riga-born defender had been linked with Southampton in recent weeks, but the Royals have swooped for his signature.

Speaking via Twitter Gorkss said: ‘A bit emotional getting my stuff from QPR training ground – spent three very good years here.

‘Thank you QPR fans for support over the years – will never forget that’

Neil Warnock highlighted the important role that Gorkss played in the recent development of Rangers.

He told QPR.co.uk: ‘Kaspars has been a tremendous servant to the Club and was instrumental in helping us reach the Premier League.

‘I’m delighted that he’s going to a good Club like Reading.’

There can be little question that Gorkss presence was one of the decisive factors in QPR’s promotion and their defensive stability at large since 2008.

Gorkss will now team up with former team-mate Mikele Leigertwood at the Madejski Stadium to help their bid for promotion.
