Rangers defender Kaspars Gork?s believes QPR are still contenders for promotion despite a set of poor recent results.

Gork?s scored the winner in Rangers’ last maximum away at Sheffield Wednesday but since then he has been dropped and reintroduced into a changeable back-line.

The Latvian international was keen to stress that Rangers will get back on track this evening and prove their credentials to a mass audience.

‘We didn’t show what we were capable of (against Middlesbrough),’ Gork?s told QPR.co.uk

‘We were enthusiastic going into the second half, I think we started pretty well until they had the penalty.

‘But we scored straight after that and I thought we might get back into the game.

‘We have some decent players and we need to know how to play well, no matter who plays.

‘I think we are (contenders in the Coca-Cola Championship). We just need to bounce back from the defeat as soon as possible.’

Rangers face Watford on Sky, looking to put in a better display than they did against Leicester City a few weeks back, when the Foxes nicked three points in W12.

Last time at Watford, managerless Rangers were over-run, conceding three goals in a short space of time and seeing Fitz Hall sent off for a lunge at Will Hoskins.
