Rob Shoebridge from Derbyshire will be the man in the middle for QPR’s Wednesday night trip on to Newcastle United.
Earlier on this season Shoebridge caused wide-spread controversy as he didn’t allow a goal for Crystal Palace’s Freddie Sears, despite the ball hitting the back of the net.
Palace boss Neil Warnock was oddly philosophical about the refereeing performance: ‘I feel sorry for the referee because he didn’t get any help. But how can I mark him after the game when he spoils a match with a mistake of that importance?”
Shoebridge was promoted to the national list in 2005. His first fixture was an F.A. Cup tie between Morecambe and Northwich, in which the visitors came out on top courtesy of a Paul Brayson hatrick.
Mr. Shoebridge`s first game at this level came last season as Coventry City beat Cardiff City away from home, on that occasion his didn`t use his cards. This was a theme that ran concurrent throughout the earlier stages of his refereeing career where he dished out 64 bookings and no red cards in 34 games.
Last season Shoebridge took charge of two QPR fixtures away from home at Norwich and Barnsley – in 34 games he handed out 65 yellow cards and four reds.

The signs weren`t good when he justifiably sent off Matthew Connolly for two bookable offences with Kaspars Gorkss being thrown in to find his feet alongside Damion Stewart – a partnership that was set to flourish.
He deemed there was encroachment from a free-kick and Martin Rowlands slammed home a re-taken free kick at Carrow Road to hand Iain Dowie`s side a much needed three away points.
Later in the season he took charge of a rather uneventful clash at Oakwell as Rangers took on Barnsley.
Damien Delaney’s strike pegged back a goal before the half-hour by Daniel Bogdanovic, but Anderson de Silva settled matters shortly before half time.
