Former QPR manager Gerry Francis has been linked with a new role at Newcastle United.

Francis who is currently plying his trade as a coach under Tony Pulis at Stoke City, is believed to be in demand with Joe Kinnear at the helm at Newcastle United.

Francis who played for the R`s in two spells stretching over ten years, and also managed Rangers for a couple of spells lasting three years a-piece over the turn of the Millennium has only been in his new role with Stoke a few weeks, but may consider the role in the North-East.
