QPR legend and Sky Sports pundit Gerry Francis spoke to the official website today and outlined his hopes and aspirations for the West London outfit.

Gerry spoke to QPR.CO.UK about his beloved Rangers, firstly about the crest:

“It`s a decent crest, the most important thing is that it becomes a lucky crest, and QPR can start progressing in the Championship, get back in the Premiership where they belong. And for it to be lucky in terms of going on and winning things, which is something as a life long QPR fan I would like to see”

Rangers legend Francis then looked at the clubs new investment:

“I think go back a year, a year and a half ago, things were bleak really, they struggled on and struggled on and they needed a financial injection, someone to come in and help. They got that and thank god they got that.”

He continued:

From that point of view you would hope things would progress now with that financial backing behind them. I don`t think it`s going to happen overnight, I think they`re going to look at it and do it the right way and gradually progress the club”

On the future of the R`s and the potential of once again becoming top dogs in London, the once Rangers captain was coy with his response, but certainly predicted bigger things for the R`s:

It`s not easy with good players and financial backing to go and win things, but certainly you`ve got a much better chance, so I see the future for QPR a lot more rosier, than I would have looked at it a couple of years ago.”
