Friendly – Double Weekend Victory Over Staines Town & AFC Wimbledon

|

It was a busy weekend for Queens Park Rangers with pre-season friendly fixtures set for both Friday and Saturday.

Friday saw us head to Staines Town where a more youthful QPR side picked up a 7-0 nil victory on the evening.

Giles Phillips, David Wheeler (2), Aramide Oteh, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Idrissa Sylla and Osman Kakay all found themselves on the scoresheet in the comfortable win at Wheatsheaf Park as we continued to build our fitness against the non-league hosts.

QPR:

Lumley (Dieng 60), Kakay (Felix 60), Phillips (Gubbins 60), Omar (trialist) (Wells 77), Hamalainen (Williams 76), Wheeler (Alfa 74), Cousins (Eshun 74), Owens (Bettache 31), Osayi-Samuel (Tilt 64), Sylla (Mesias 74), Oteh (Platt 69).

Subs not used:

Genovesi, Dalling.

Goals – Phillips (19), Wheeler (23, 31), Oteh (pen 25), Osayi-Samuel (45), Sylla (pen 51), Kakay (56).

Saturday’s outing obviously saw a completely different starting XI from the one that played on Friday night as we faced AFC Wimbledon, but QPR still managed to take a 1-0 victory as Luke Freeman scored a last-minute winner at the death of the game.

QPR:

Ingram, Furlong (Kakay 53), Bidwell, Leistner, Lynch (Baptiste 60), Scowen, Manning, Freeman, Eze (Wszolek 60), Washington (Osayi-Samuel 80), Smith (Smyth 60).

Subs: Dieng, Genovesi, Phillips, Oteh, Hamalainen, Williams, Tilt, Felix.

Goal – Freeman (90).
