The latest in a procession of players being linked with a move to Loftus Road

The cogs never stop turning on that never-ending rumour mill and today has seen several suprise names linked with a move to W12.

Roque Santa Cruz has been someone relatively close to the forefront of Mark Hughes’ mind, having taken him to Manchester City from Blackburn Rovers and attempted to snare the Paraguayan while manager of Fulham.

Quite unbelievably the 30-year-old front-man is still contracted to City, but has failed to recapture the form the saw him net 23 times for Rovers in 57 games.

A recent jaunt into La Liga has seen him strike four times for Real Betis, helping to rekindle some of the old form, and Hughes is now reportedly lining up a permanent move for the front man.

Next up is disillusioned midfielder Steven Pienaar – the South African international reportedly unhappy with the lack of game time since joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Only nine appearances in sum for the 29-year-old Ajax youth product has led to murmurings that he is eyeing a move away from White Hart Lane.

Last but not least another midfielder with international pedigree, Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari – a player with over 60 caps for Ghana.

The combative central midfielder impressed for Udinese and then Portsmouth on the way to a move to the Serie A giants, but was loaned out to Sunderland last season with a view to offloading the international man.

All interesting targets, but are any realistic?
