Rangers assistant boss Tim Flowers explains the reason to send defender Zesh Rehman on loan to Blackpool

The former Leicester and Blackburn stopper suggests this isn’t the end of the road for Rehman.

‘Zesh has been first class since the first day of pre-season” Flowers told QPR.co.uk

“But it’s clear we’ve got an abundance of high quality centre-backs at the Club and he knows he’s slightly behind in the pecking order at the moment.”

Rehman has made 46 appearances for Rangers since he was signed by Gary Waddock in 2006 for an undisclosed fee. The Pakistani international has found the going tough with Rangers and has been on loan to Brighton to gain first team football, and that was the reasoning behind Dowie making him a loan Ranger once more,

“It’s important that he gets some games under his belt though and he’ll get that opportunity at Blackpool.”

‘We wish him all the best for his six month spell, because he’s a top lad and a first class professional who deserves to be playing football week in, week out.’
