Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has given his reaction over a return to Loftus Road on the opening game of the campaign.

The former QPR boss could hardly hide his excitement and while there was no mention of badgers in mating season, you could sense the feverish anticipation in his words.

Olly spoke to QPR.co.uk intimating that it was a perfect time to play one of his former sides.

He said: ‘I knew I was going to play some of my ex teams at certain times of the season, but it will be a great time to play them,’

‘Obviously they have a sparkling interior of the ground now and a new Manager, but like I said, I just can’t wait to take the Tangerine army there and give it a right good go.’

The last time Holloway met Queens Park Rangers was on New Years Day 2008 when his Leicester City side went down to a rejuvenated Rangers shortly before their cup trip to London rivals Chelsea.

Despite this Holloway had a good record at Loftus Road with opposition sides with Plymouth notable victors at Loftus Road on a couple of occasions.

The manager that took Rangers to the Championship expects a good reception from the Loftus Road crowd, but believes that the occasion won`t be about his homecoming.

‘I won’t get stick. I have been back there a few times now and I have always had a very good reception from them.

‘It was quite emotional last time I took a team to QPR; they were all singing there is only one Ian Holloway and when I left there the supporters were singing my name, but I can’t wait to get there and show them what we are all about.

‘It won’t be about Ian Holloway and QPR – it will be about Blackpool and getting off to a good start.’

Holloway took charge of 252 games for Queens Park Rangers leading them to promotion from the modern equivalent of League One.

He was placed on gardening leave by then chairman Gianni Paladini and subsequently made the move to Plymouth Argyle. After a brief spell in the south west he moved to Leicester City but failed to prevent their relegation from the Championship and was relieved by chairman Milan Mandaric.
