TONY Fernandes has once again given his full backing to Mark Hughes in the face of recent media reports.

The Daily Mail has claimed in recent days that Mark Hughes will face the sack should Rangers fail to pick up a maximum against Reading.

Fernandes poured scorn on these suggestions via his Twitter account, stating: ‘Mark has my backing and the shareholders. We need a little luck and no injuries. What’s written in the press is all rubbish.

‘I honestly believe we have one of the best managers in the premier league. And we are in for the long term. Whatever happens. We love QPR.’

He continued: ‘Ill be there at reading so rangers fans ill be available to meet and chat. Trust me on this one. Keep the faith. Stability is the key.’

Fernandes has never been short of support for manager Hughes and has been barracked by sections of fans on Twitter – even commenting on the most unrelated of conversations to make their point heard.

The Malaysian’s forceful response should keep the doubters at bay another week, but a less than desirable result against Reading could see Fernandes having to once again defend his position.

Just under a year ago Neil Warnock slammed Twitter as the reason for his departure, claiming Mr Fernandes had been ‘poisoned’. It is clear to see that the poisonous element is still present, but Fernandes remains firm for now.
