Queens Park Rangers midfielder Alejandro Faurlín received international clearance and earned high praise for his display in the recent friendly against NK Celje.

The QPR record capture played an hour in Slovenia in the R`s 2-2 draw with NK Celje yesterday (Wednesday) after receiving international clearance to play only the day before on Tuesday.

The former Insituto talent drew great praise from the Rangers management after his first appearance in a QPR shirt.

Boss Jim Magilton was delighted with the technical ability of the player, accepting that while he is evidently working his way to full fitness, his ability is there for all to see.

‘He hasn’t played for a while, so I was delighted with his display,’ Jim told QPR.co.uk

‘Of course he was always likely to tire towards the end of the game, because he hasn’t played for a while, but overall I was really impressed.

‘He passed the ball really well and kept possession in key areas, so I’m delighted.’

While his assistant John Gorman was also beaming about the prospect of Faurlín following his first appearance. The former England coach was impressed work-rate of the young Argentinean despite not playing for a lengthy period.

Gorman said: ‘You can see the kid’s a very good player.

‘He worked his socks off and played a very positive role in a very strong opening 40 minutes.’

Queens Park Rangers will now travel to Croatia to play NK Karlovac on Sunday as they look to hone their preparations for the beginning of a difficult Championship campaign.
