NEWS to round off a thoroughly disappointing day as Alejandro Faurlín confirmed that he will be out for the remainder of the 2011-12 campaign.

The Argentinean midfielder over-stretched for a ball in Rangers draw against Milton Keynes Dons last weekend and as a result has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

He confirmed on his twitter account @alefaurlin: ‘I just wanna let u know guys, its bad news for me I have rupture of the ACL,I’m out for the rest of the season! Really disappointed sad!

‘Things never been easy for me! But for sure I will be back stronger!!I accept this test as professional and person as well!!’

The midfielder has been a consistent shining light at the heart of the QPR midfield which culminated in him being named captain for the FA Cup fixture.

His presence in the middle of the park will be missed as Rangers must now scramble around for a new midfielder as well as a new manager.
