It was another of those weekend’s for Queens Park Rangers as we faced Birmingham City last Saturday, but tonight presents an opportunity break our run of form as we face Bristol City.

Having found ourselves 4-0 down before the halftime break last weekend, an almost sterling fightback seeing a brace from Matt Smith and an effort from Jordan Cousins only saw disappointment as Nakhi Wells spurned his effort from 12 yards as we won a penalty late on, and to his credit, the 28-year-old was quick to take to social media to apologise to fans for his mistake.

With four straight defeats, the disappointment was palpable, and it’s obvious to everyone how we have to turn our current run of form around, but plenty of fans in response to his above message were prepared to back him to bounce back and no doubt plenty more would’ve loved Tony Fernandes’ own words on the topic as under manager Steve McClaren we certainly seem to have a tight spirit back, and we will need that to get back to winning ways.

  • I endorse all these comments above, we all miss the odd penalty at some time or other (even me!). What I struggle to understand is why, when we have a proven team, we field a weaker one, go 4 down before we put it right. Seems almost like we dont want to win sometimes.

    • Given those players we know from history should step up for pens but shy away, you’ve got to give the benefit of the doubt haven’t you. No player misses deliberately after all.
