Radek Cerny 4/10 – Wholly responsible for their first goal. Made a decent save but also persisted with passing to defenders as Burnley tried to close us down. Horrendous error for the goal, really horrendous. The guy is not as ‘classy’ as many on here have said!

Fitz Hall 4/10 – Started well in the first half playing at RB. Second half was torn apart by Eagles and co. Sloppy clearances and passing. Always looked like he would concede a penalty.

Kaspars Gorkss 6/10 – Overall did well. Good in the air and the ground and I wonder whether he should be made captain. However like the rest of the back four and GK persisted in delicate passes to each other even after being caught out by Burnley attackers once. Pass forward and hoof if needs be seems to be an unlearnt lesson for all!

Damion Stewart 6/10 – Did very well for much of the game (despite the delicate passing) but alas had a complete shocker with 20 seconds to go until penalties.

Damian Delaney 5/10 – Improved upon previous appearances but does not inspire any sort of confidence. Kept trying and perhaps with Cook out we should use him as LM with three at the back!?!

Matteo Alberti 5/10 – Possibly not match fit. Had the odd glimmer of skill, poise and decent passing. Too often muscled off the ball and not good in the air which begs the question ‘Why lob it 40 yards to him’??

Mikele Leigertwood 5/10 – Mr Inconsistent lived up to his name. Occasionally harried well, made some incisive (yet unsupported) runs deep into Burnley territory but then would make an inept pass, go missing and has the touch of a plague victim.

Martin Rowlands 5/10 – A little like Leigertwood. Had a great shot, hit the bar yet still can’t cross or take a corner unless it’s 50 yards away. Overall passing wasn’t great and should have scored late in the second half to grab us the victory.

Gavin Mahon 3/10 – How this guy gets in the first team is anyone’s guess. First he is at least 3 yards off the pace, Burnley didn’t let him get near the ball and they didn’t even try. He also only made one forward pass whilst he was on. No tackling whatsoever. He really has to go. Much, MUCH worse than Delaney.

Emmanuel Ledesma 4/10 – One or two nice link up’s with Di Carmine in the first half but never really got into the game. Seems to have lost his touch AND confidence.

Samuel Di Carmine 7/10 – Worked tirelessly despite being upended numerous times yet the ref (whose dad must be a Burnley fan) never gave him any protection. Ran the channels well but had no support at all. Took his goal very well. Hopefully will be given more chances in the future.

Hogan Ephraim 5/10 – (On for Ledesma). Didn’t really offer much when he came on. Lack of bravery and effort in chasing down balls in what surely must be a tired Burnley team. Better at free kicks than Rowlands.

Heidar Helguson 5/10 – (On for Di Carmine). Again never really got into the game. All puff and no substance. Don’t remember him having a shot or breakaway. One problem was he was far too deep for much of his time on the pitch.

Romone Rose 6/10 – (On for Mahon). Looked hungry and displayed some deft touches. Took on his man time and time again and most of the time beat him. Linked well with Delaney on occasions. Had a great shot in extra time which almost got through Jenson. Should be an example to most first teamers.

Overall we overcomplicate things and are far too negative. The passing at the back has to stop NOW. We were caught out and got away with it – yet persisted. It doesn’t get us anywhere, allowed Burnley to push up on us and we would fall back.

Mahon should have his contract cancelled no matter the fee. Also there was absolutely no support for Di Carmine. Cerny has started making a rash of errors (as he did at Spurs) and they have started to cost us unlike when he got away with them earlier in the season. I would like Camp given a chance but if not then a new keeper as he hasn’t learnt from his earlier debacles and cost us this match.

Not many positives apart from Di Carmine and Rose for me.

Well, this is certainly a thorough review, Toboboly, thanks! And I hope that the trip wasn`t too difficult for you – though coming back having lost must have been harder!
