Experienced Right Back On Verge Of Sealing Loftus Road Arrival

|

It was being reported yesterday that experienced fullback Angel Rangel was now close to completing his speculated move to Queens Park Rangers.

The 35-year-old right-back is a free agent having left Swansea City over the summer following their relegation and the expiry of his existing deal and he’s been linked with a move to us for the past few weeks.

West London Sport have claimed that they understand a deal is now closed for the hugely experienced player and he’d be a good addition for QPR on a number of fronts, not least the experienced one with our younger crop of players.

He would also be a solid replacement from Darnell Furlong following his injury.

He spent eleven years at Swansea, making 328 appearances in the league for them and he played a key role in helping them into the top-flight in the first place. He got limited game time last season though and always looked likely to move on when his deal came to an end.

Having been invited to train with us as we took a closer look at him, I guess the expectation is a deal will be confirmed today or tomorrow on a 12-month basis.
