Tonight marks an important evening in the futures of London clubs Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace.

The Eagles travel to Villa Park to face Premier League side Aston Villa in an FA Cup replay, following their 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park.

Palace manager Neil Warnock appears to be QPR-bound after rumours of back up choice Iain Dowie were recently quashed.

Any potential Rangers’ deal for the Eagles boss was always scheduled to come to fruition after tonight’s clash with Villa – as Warnock waves a fond farewell to the Palace fans.

Previously Warnock cited a special relationship with former chairman Simon Jordan as a reason for not leaving the club – but since the club was put into administration he has decided to look elsewhere.

The former Sheffield United boss has been the number one candidate for the Rangers board, with former boss Iain Dowie lined up until the end of the season as back-up.

Defeat tonight would give Warnock an easier departure route, while a win would give him the perfect send-off, as the manager remains firmly linked with Rangers.
