Eustace Remains As QPR Prepare To Announce New Manager – Reports

|

Late yesterday evening, it was being reported that former Brentford, Rangers and Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton had stolen a march when it came to Queens Park Rangers’ appointment of a new manager.

With Warburton linked alongside the likes of Darren Moore, Gareth Ainsworth and Marc Bircham to name just three, the rumour mill had a new favourite every day although Tim Sherwood’s ties to Les Ferdinand seemed to have him ahead of the pack for a large period.

That all changed with Sky Sports reporting yesterday evening that they understood we were now on the verge of announcing Warburton to the post.

Warburton’s stock is high given his work at Brentford, and he had mixed spells with Rangers and Forest, but he’s the type of gaffer who has an eye for youth development and that’s obviously important at Loftus Road given our financial constraints – but he has been out of work since New Year’s Day 2017.

If this claim proves to be true a portion of the fanbase will be happy, but plenty won’t as they had their own favourites – however, that’s always the case.

Sky also claim that interim gaffer John Eustace will continue in his role as assistant manager, which is a surprise given Warburton’s last two jobs saw him install David Weir as assistant gaffer and Frank McParland as head of recruitment.
