Eustace Knows QPR Need To Get Things Right Over The Summer After Another Defeat

Queens Park Rangers were hoping to draw a line under back to back Championship defeats as we welcomed Nottingham Forest to Loftus Road for Saturday’s action.

Going into the game we knew we were safe from relegation this season and that was John Eustace’s only aim after replacing Steve McClaren in the hot seat, but after a goalless first half where we were largely on top, Forest made more of their chances and gained the 1-0 advantage in the 55th minute.

We continued to largely dominate chances but we just simply couldn’t take the opportunities as they came along and 1-0 was how the game finished and we arguably didn’t deserve to lose that one, but QPR have been here before.

Speaking to the BBC following the game, interim caretaker gaffer Eustace got it pretty spot this time on as he summed the game up I think – we’re the cause of our own downfall.

“That game summed our season up. We haven’t been clinical enough. It’s something we need to get right in the summer. It’s important that we recruit winners – players who aren’t used to losing. I think over the last two or three seasons the standards haven’t been good enough and the recruitment is going to be massive this summer. We need to recruit hungry players who it means everything to them to win games. There were a lot of young players out there fighting for the club and the experience will only stand them in good stead for next year.”
