Queens Park Rangers youngster Elvijs Putnins has taken the next step in international football as he is called up for Latvia once again.

Putnins is no stranger to the international scene having progressed through Latvia`s set-up at both the under 17`s and under 18`s stage.

The young goalkeeper was put through his paces by Radek Cerny prior to last weekend`s fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers after coming through the youth tournament in Sardinia with flying colours.

Now comes the latest step up for the highly-rated goalkeeper as he joins up with the Latvia under 19 squad for the Baltic Cup. He will face Estonia and Lithuania, from April 29th to May 3rd 2009.
