On Wednesday evening Queens Park Rangers made the trip to The Den to face Millwall in our latest Championship clash.
With the wheels long having fallen of our season, leading to the eventual sacking of former manager Steve McClaren, most fans are now simply hoping for survival and something to get excited about when our Board finally decide to appoint a new manager to hopefully take us back in the right direction.
In any event, we battled to a point in the midweek clash and caretaker gaffer John Eustace was right to pick out the improvements given we had four hammered past us last Saturday by table toppers Norwich City.
As fans took to social media following the game to discuss the scoreless draw, the gaffer, and Ryan Manning came in for particular praise.
22-year-old Republic of Ireland youngster Manning was particularly deserving of his praise as he lined up for the first time this year in an unfamiliar left back berth.
Decent point. Two pretty terrible sides. Thought Manning was excellent at left back. One win should do it. #qpr

@QPR keep John Eustace until the end of the season. Brave team selection but it worked well, especially Manning who was excellent

Credit to Eustace, picked a team of battlers and it paid off. Smith, Scowen and Manning coming in was exactly what was needed away at Millwall.

Yeah should've done better with that one in the first half.

Felt like Manning did the basics very well at left back. Always stopped the cross, something I see Bidwell rarely be capable to do. Not sure what Bright needs to do to start a few games. #QPR

Should be our current left back!

Bright still has a lot to learn in his decision making but with the right coaching, he’s got some potential. Also think Manning has found his new position for next season. #qpr

Manning was brilliant tonight ???? surely we’ve got to keep the same team against Swansea ????????♀️???? #QPR

Scowen motm today for me with Manning not far behind especially considering he's only played a handful of games at left back. And if it's not yet clear: BRIGHT NEEDS TO START #QPR #MILQPR
