Two Queens Park Rangers players are eyeing a return to first team action following their respective injuries.

Ale Faurlín has been out of action since January since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligaments in the FA Cup draw with MK Dons.

Physio Nigel Cox told QPR.co.uk that Faulín is targeting a return to action at the start of next season.

‘It has been well documented that Ali will not return this season and the target is for him to be back for the start of the next campaign.

‘Injuries such as this tend to take 6-7 months to recover from. That timeframe would take us to August and we are hopeful that if there are no problems along the way we will be able to have Ali available for the start of next season.’

Meanwhile DJ Campbell is looking more short term to get back to action and is hoping to join in with match day proceedings soon.

Blighted with a succession of ailments, the forward will look to get back among the goals in the coming weeks.

DJ told The Fulham Chronicle: ‘My recovery’s going really well and it shouldn’t be long before I’m back in full training. It’s been a disappointing season because of all the injuries, with my metatarsal and then my hamstring.

‘I’m a QPR fan and it’s been tough seeing us struggling, especially as I’ve been unable to do anything about it. Even when I have played I haven’t been the same DJ as last season as I haven’t been fully fit.

‘But I’ve been doing extra work in the gym to make sure I come back stronger and fitter than ever for the run-in.’

Their respective injuries this season will have undoubtedly disappointed the pair, as they watch on during Rangers’ current plight.
