Scott Donnelly again impressed for Rangers’ Reserve team in a 1-1 draw with Brighton on Monday evening.

The 18-year old has been knocking on the first team door for the past few months but injury has disrupted his recent progress but after his ‘wonder goal’ last night he’s sure to have sent caretaker manager Gary Waddock a timely reminder of his talents.

His goal came in the 2nd minute of the fixture at Worthing F.C. after he cut in from the left touchline to launch a superb curling effort which left Brighton’s Reserve keeper with no chance.

An experienced Brighton side made Rangers’ strikers Shabazz Baidoo and Stefan Moore pay for some poor finishing mid-way through the first half.

Argentinean striker Federico Turienzo headed home from close range to equalise.

Reserve team coach Joe Gallen was pleased with the display, speaking to the official QPR website after the match he said:

‘It was a very pleasing performance. Obviously there was a little bit of extra motivation in the wake of Wads saying he’ll ring the changes for the trip to Burnley on Saturday and a few of them have certainly given him plenty to ponder

‘All in all it was a solid team performance. The young lads were a breath of fresh air and the senior players, Georges, Stefan and Ugo, showed their class too.

‘Scott took his goal really well and in general his performance was of a very high standard.”

QPR Reserves: Cole, Yelland, Ukah, Munday, Howell, Donnelly, Santos, Bailey, Townsend, Moore, Baidoo.

Subs: Sandercombe, Hislop, Sappleton, Smart, Ngongou.
