England international Robert Green is reportedly poised to sign for QPR on a free transfer.

Currently situated in Poland with the England international team, Green sees his contract at newly-promoted West Ham United come to an end.

A few clubs have been in the frame for his signature with QPR heavily linked – along with a sizeable £50k per week wage packet for the ex-Norwich City man.

Much like the Joey Barton deal, it is anticipate that all signing on fees are spread out over the course of the deal, but nevertheless it raises questions of such a hefty weekly wage.

Paddy Kenny – a stalwart in Rangers’ promotion campaign, and indeed their fight for safety – will be seemingly offloaded to Leeds United without so much of a whimper, while reportedly incoming Green will get a princely sum for his services.

The question to pose at this stage is, is Rob Green worth that much more as a goalkeeper than current option Kenny? – It’ll be down the QPR boss to make the decisive moves in the coming weeks.
