HULL City have entered into talks to sign DJ Campbell from Queens Park Rangers, according to boss Steve Bruce.

The Tigers boss brought Campbell from Brentford to Birmingham City for £500k, just months after the Bees paid Yeading a mere £50k for his services.

He told the BBC that Hull have entered into talks with Rangers over a potential deal to take Campbell to Humberside.

‘We’re talking to QPR. that’s all we are at the moment, talking to them.

‘We hope that we can try and resolve something next week if we possibly can and we’ll see what develops.’

Campbell was signed from Blackpool in 2011 but injury curtailed his appearances as the forward fell out of favour under a different manager in Mark Hughes.

He was omitted from the 25-man squad and sent out on loan to Ipswich Town, where he thrived and has continued to court the interest of Championship clubs.

Hull are looking to kick on in a bid to return to the Premier League and Campbell’s potential goals could be the key in achieving their promotion objective.
