Lenny367 analyses the current Rangers striking unit and compares them to Championship top scorer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

With no stats to produce this week thanks to the international break I turned my attention to our strikers stats, comparing them to Sylvan Ebanks Blake at leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Wolves hitman manages to hit the target 72% of the time compared to Heidar Helguson 50%, Dexter Blackstock 53%, Patrick Agyemang 63% but not as good as Samuel Di Carmine`s 80%.

Of those shots on target the picture changes when you look at how many end up in the net. Ebanks Blake scores with 40% of shots on target while Agyemang manages only 8%, Di Carmine 13%, and Helguson 38%, none of whom are as good as Dexter Blackstock who manages 46%.

Obviously these stats don`t differentiate between shots on target that are brilliantly saved or are so weak that they are like a pass back, but maybe go some way to showing why Di Carmine was picked ahead of Blackstock at the weekend, because he is a better bet to hit the target.

Don`t write off Dex just yet as when he does hit the target his chances of scoring are up there with the best in the Championship.

Finally I looked at the average chances per game:

Ebanks-Blake on average only has 2.23 shots per game compared to Samuel Di Carmine`s 1.25. Helguson 2.00, Agyemang 2.11 and Blackstock on 2.14.

Therefore my pecking order for our strikers would be (and purely based on these stats):

1. Dexter Blackstock
2. Samuel Di Carmine
3. Heidar Helguson
4. Patrick Agyemang
