Dexter Blackstock revealed his surprise at the departure of ex-manager Luigi De Canio, and the recent atmosphere at Loftus Road.

Blackstock commented on icons.com the surprise he and his fellow players felt at the departure of Gigi:

“The big news at QPR this week has been Luigi De Canio leaving the club last week and I have to say it came as a real shock to all of us players.”

“Football`s a crazy game these days and managers leaving clubs is just something you have to get used to. I think he did a good job this season and at times the football we played was really good, especially at Loftus Road”

With that in mind Dexter explained his thoughts behind the departure of the R`s former Head Coach:

“But then there is a lot of expectation at QPR at the moment. There are some big guys in charge of the club now and if they thought there needed to be a change then I`m sure there were good reasons behind it.”

Whatever the decision made, Dexter believes Gigi got the perfect send off:

“At least his last game was another sell out at home. The atmosphere has been great recently. Everyone wants to be a part of what`s happening here.”

Blackstock was in scintillating form towards the end of the 2007/08 campaign, scoring 4 goals in his final 7 games, the final of which being excellent individual play against Charlton Athletic.

Those are the thoughts of R`s striker Dexter Blackstock. We want to know YOUR thoughts!
