SHAUN Derry has been named the new boss of League One side Notts County
35-year-old Derry finished off his playing days on loan at Millwall from Harry Redknapp’s QPR and he will take up the post at Meadow Lane with immediate effect.
He succeeds former QPR frontman Chris Kiwomya and is joined by former Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott.
Derry came through the ranks at Meadow Lane before leaving for Sheffield United, a career culminating in the Premier League with Queens Park Rangers.
Derry made nearly 100 appearances for the Rs, scoring a solitary goal in the fine comeback against Livepool in 2011.

Good luck to the Grey Peacock – Shaun Derry, my lord!! He’ll back at QPR one day – as our manager?!!!
At this time in his career, this looks like the right step for Shaun Derry. Good luck to him with Notts County, it won’t be the easiest start to a management career but, if he does well there, it could set him up very nicely for the future.
